The key to pulling off statement girly florals without looking like your grandma picks out your outfits for you, it to keep the length short and flirty, and because this tunic has a high neck and modest cut, you can pull off a micro-mini length and without too 'trying-to-be-sexy'. This tunic is the perfect length for this, short enough to be either worn on it's own with pumps, heels, plimsolls, or even with DMs to toughen it up and rough up it's girly edges, and long enough to be dressed up with tights and t-bars for family occasions.
The moral of this story? Topshop is fantastic, which reminds me, how would you like to attend the opening of a brand new Topshop AND score 20% off any Topshop purchases? Well guess what, YOU CAN! On the 11th February, Topshop is opening a brand new store in the Westfields Centre, in Shepherd's Bush! To quote the Topshop website, this is what's going down:
"You'll be the first to preview the must-haves from our SS09 Unique collection as well as pieces from our sought after designer collaborations. Whilst listening to a live performance by VV Brown plus a DJ set by the gorgeous Voguettes, enjoy delicious treats from the pop-up cocktail cake bar in association with patisserie masters Maison Bertaux.
And at the Vogue Fashion & Beauty desk you'll be able to get all the insider tips from Topshop's Style Advisors as well as Vogue's fashion and beauty editors. There will also be complimentary beauty treats from our favourite brands, 20% off all purchases made on the night and an exclusive free gift from Freedom.
Tickets cost £10 and are redeemable against purchases made on the night and there is complimentary Westfield valet parking for all ticket holders"
You read right: 20% off, free gifts, free beauty treats, live music, all for FREE! (I'm here assuming that you will buy something, if not, actually go into debt stocking up on fashion 'essentials'). So what the hell are you waiting for, go to the Topshop site to book.
I'm also in love with the pink front covers of the play I'm studying in English Literature, 'She Stoops to Conquer': Isn't that exciting? Or is that just me being an English Lit neek? Yep, the second one, that's what I thought too ...
