Smart Women Go Technical

At Clothes Before Hoes, technical expertise has never been a strong point, and the very word HTML makes me want to run far, far away. But this week I've impressed myself by putting on my fashionable thinking cap, (a trilby rather than a Giles Deacon inspired head pod) and gone to gadget town, Clothes Before Hoes style, creating new ways for you to keep in touch and follow the blog. As well as the classic 'follow using Blogger feature', I've also enabled the follow with Bloglovin' option, I've only been using Bloglovin' for a few days, but I'm already hooked, it's really easy to use, plus it enables non-Blogger users to follow their favourite blogs; check out the link in the side bar to follow Clothes Before Hoes on Bloglovin' or to create an account. If you've got a Blogger account, why not follow me through Blogger, that way you can check out my updates directly from your Blogger home page. You can also follow Clothes Before Hoes on Twitter, or just check out my latest Laroux Loves on the direct Twitter feed on the sidebar. In other technical news, after my last camera died on me a month ago, I've finally gotten round to ordering a brand new Sony this week, so I can start uploading outfit pics - I love photography, so I can't wait for my new baby to arrive!

While I've been becoming a regular technologista, I've also been inspired by the lovely people at the Smart Women Company, whose range of fun, slogan stationary and accessories aims to empower women, encouraging them to think for themselves, vote and participate in politics. An American company, Smart Women ship world wide and are stocked in accessory heaven, Tatty Devine, so there's no excuse not to get hooked on these fun, feminist products. My favourite picks for the range are the 'Smart Women Protect Free Speech' lip balm, 'Smart Women Back Up Their Words' mouse mat and the 'Smart Women Mark Their Words' pencils, that promise to make me come over all executive, even when I'm doodling stick men on the backs of receipts! Which are your favourite?

I'd also like to give big loves to Cherish JD, who sent me my first blog"award"! By accepting this award, I have to nominate ten other bloggers to pass the award onto:

The rules are:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which you think are fabulous.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

Instead of nominating 10, I'm going to be nominating five blogs and pass the award onto one blogger per post, for five posts, so be sure to check if you're one of the lucky five! So today, I'm nominating Alecca with her blog Alecca Rox; Alecca was one of the first bloggers to get into Clothes Before Hoes, and not only does she writes some amaze blog posts on both British and Greek fashion, but she knows how to spot a great pair of shoes, whether they're by Miu Miu or ASDA; what a girl!

Laroux! I am honoured! Even more because this is my first award to and it's coming from you, one of my favourite bloggers:) I think whoever gave it to you did a very good job.

It is perfectly ok to ask other bloggers for help with links and html etc. Here's how u make an active link in ur post:

1. You write the name of the person or brand you want to link.
2. You highlight the name.
3. You click on the link botton and then enter the link address.
4. Click ok et voila! you've just created an active link. Now keep typing.

Let me know if it works and feel free to ask any questions u may have in the future.

*Congrats on ur camera, awaiting posts of posing in peronal styling.

I love the design of that 'Smart Women' stuff but the phrases are a bit corny. I mean do we really need "daily reminders of the strength, resourcefulness and 'smarts' of women"? On a lip balm?!

Congrats on the award by the way, great blog! Oh, and it's amazing how much html crap you can teach yourself when you really want to "do something cool" with your blog, I've never learned so fast!
